Background: Wayne Smart is widely regarded as one of the most promising and versatile up and coming talents to emerge from the harder end of the scene in the last two years. He is better known for the seamless mixing and relentless late sets that he has unleashed on crowds at London’s mighty Frantic and at his residencies at Concept and Encoded NRG but is equally at home turning his hand more pumping euphoric hard dance sets when the set time denotes it. He recently came runner up in Harderfaster.net best new DJ category and in a DSI interview was picked out by scene leading lady Lucy Fur as a DJ that would be on her line up for a perfect night of Hard House. His gigs to date include: Frantic, Awsum, Requiem, Concept, Convergence, Glow Ball to name a few.

Over the past 18 Months Wayne (along with partner in crime Phatt Beats) have been propelling their Encoded Nrg Imprint to the forefront of the scene and celebrated the launch of the debut CD last year. The nine tracker was a resounding success and featured two huge collabs with first Defective Audio and then James Nardi in the shape of ‘Death Warrant’ and ‘Drop It’. Death Warrant was particularly well received, appearing in countless DJ top tens and went straight into the Toolbox store top five best sellers upon its opening where it has remained to this day.

Future Plans: 2010 is looking to be even busier; on the back of several successful one off parties Wayne and the Encoded NRG party crew will be taking the event Monthly @ Southend’s SS1 club. On the production/label front a second Encoded NRG CD is to be released later this year, hot on the heels of the Weazal Collab ‘Golden Balls’ release on Adam M’s prestigious Nitrotane CD. Wayne will also be gigging here there any everywhere again this year with some HUGE projects in the pipeline that will be revealed in due course!
