Welcome Jody, you are no stranger to us here as your remix of Do It Live and New Surroundings have received great support from all of us here at The Beat Ranch. For those who do not know where abouts are you from and how is the scene out there?
I’m from Brisbane, Australia. I’ve been making dance music for about 10 years and DJing for 8. Over the last 2 years, I’ve focused on producing UK Hard House. The scene in Brisbane is very small. Brisbane is the second best city in Australia for hard house after Adelaide. The scene in Auckland New Zealand is probably the best outside of the UK.
It appears now that you are in your winter down there, how you holding up with the "cold" weather?
Yeah its about 20 degrees in the daytime during winter. It does actually feel cold at night cause most houses don’t have any heating.
Do you remember your first rave that you attended?
My university has a night club on campus back in 2000. They would play 1 or 2 harder tunes there per night. I heard Tony De Vit – Are You All Ready and I’ve been hooked ever since.
How has the scene changed since your first event?
It’s unfortunately gotten smaller.

What came first for you DJing or production?
I started with production first because I was intrigued by how to make all those amazing sounds I was hearing at raves.
Who or what are your influences to production?
My main influence and inspiration for hard house would be Paul Glazby. He is unfortunately retiring!
What are some of your favorite VSTs or bits of hardware to use?
I use Cubase 5. My fav synths are Zeta, Sylenth 1 and Predator. I don’t use many effects but I do love Qudrafuzz distortion on Cubase.

You have had releases on labels such as Vicious Circle, Toolbox, Renewable NRG, Fireball and loads more, what tracks are you working on that people should be on the look out for?
I just finished a remix of Do It Live which recently came out on The Beat Ranch, you can grab it here
When was your first DJing gig and how did it go?
My first ever gig was at the superclub - Club Complex Code in Tokyo. I used to live in Japan. It was so much fun DJing at that first gig and I still enjoy it just as much today.
When can people see you play out next?
Sure Im playing at a music festival near Brisbane in October called BamFest. Last month I played at Frantic in Auckland NZ and Déjà vu in Christchurch NZ. 2 months ago I played at NRGetic Romancer in Tokyo.
If you were not DJing or Producing what would you see yourself doing?
My day job is a lawyer. So that’s what I do. I would prefer to be DJing and producing full time though.

What is your favorite drink?
Jager Bombs!
If you had to live off of only 1 kind of food what would it be?
McDonalds double cheese burgers. They taste even better after a long rave.
Any last words or shout outs?
We should start a Hard House revolution and take over the world.
